No one treats us worse than ourselves.

The Morning Happy Hour is here to help you turn consistent self-sabotage

into daily self-love.

I once heard Dr. Robert Holden say that if you want to change the world, you have to love yourself.

This blew my mind.

What does loving yourself have to do with changing all of the violence, anger, and hate happening all over the world?

How could loving myself, something that sounded so vain and conceited, help the world

I didn't see the connection.

Until I started to fall in love with myself.

What I learned was this:

Falling in love with yourself is NOT the same thing as being conceited or vain.

Falling in love with yourself makes the world around you sing.

It means whatever happens to you in your life, good or bad, you're going to be okay.

It means showing up in the world exactly as you are, and not being ashamed of it.

This kind of love leads to absolute miracles.

Here's what happened when I started falling in love with myself for who I was versus who I thought I should be.

My relationships improved drastically.

I set limits for toxic people and felt no shame at taking time for myself.

I mustered up the courage to say no to things that were NOT for me.

I loved myself so hard on the daily, that I got up the courage to dismiss all projects that weren't serving what I felt was my higher purpose.

I set aside shame and humiliation to say out loud to other people my plans and goals for this blog, and my life.

Imagine getting a love note every single morning?

Imagine waking up, and enjoying a orning happy hour with yourself every single day?

If that doesn't sound awesome to you, it's probably because many of us don't like ourselves for whatever reason.

We told ourselves a story about ourselves a long time ago, and we're sticking to it, regardless of how many times it's led us down dead-end jobs and relationships, or how many times we've been hurt.

But I'm going to be honest with you.

Absolutely nothing in your life changes until you do.

If you want to see more love in your life, you have to be the love in your life.

You first have to love yourself.

And if there's one thing I've learned, it doesn't happen overnight.

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS

Every morning you'll get a love note in your inbox, reminding you how loved you are.

There are three optionS

BUT I'LL ADMIT, IT'S HARD

Like any change you make in your life, there are no quick and easy fixes.

You can't just  go from hating yourself to loving yourself with a few pretty quotes.

It takes daily discipline, and loving attention.

SO WE KINDA HAVE TO WORK AT IT

Each and every day we have to make a decision to LOVE ourselves.

In every annoying set back, in every nighttime fear, and in every anxious thought we've ever had,

we have the power within us to always choose love,

to choose to be kind to ourselves.

SO WHAT'S THE MORNING HAPPY HOUR?

The morning happy hour is a daily shot of self-love.

I'm a firm believer that a happy day begins with a happy hour (amirite?)

so in that first early morning hour, you'll get a love note delivered straight to your inbox,

chock full of new perspectives to help you re-frame your thoughts from self-destructive to self-loving.

Enjoy your morning happy hour with a cup of coffee, a warm cup of lemon water, or...a bloody mary.

Soak in all of the goodness, the love, and think of it as a toast to yourself before the day even begins.

I'D SO LOVE A MORNING HAPPY HOUR!

SELF-LOVE AND ACCEPTANCE DOESN'T HAPPEN OVERNIGHT.

IT'S A CHOICE WE MAKE EACH AND EVERY MIRACULOUS DAY, TO LOOK OURSELVES

IN THE MIRROR AND SAY YES TO THE PERSON STARING BACK AT US.

(SOMETIMES IT'S A FUCK YES.)

I have found that there is only one thing that heals every problem and that is: to love yourself.
